Nar Phu valley trek is one of the most exciting Himalayan wildernesses which offers a rare opportunity to explore wild and unspoiled valleys which has its unique features, a mix of raw Himalayan nature and ancient Buddhist culture. The Nar Phu Valley Trek combines remote villages of Nar Phu, narrow canyons, lovely forests, amazing rock formations, Yaks Monasteries, Kang La Pass and unique Himalayan cultures. Nar Phu Valley is located in the north of Annapurna, which is barely touched by the modern world. Nar Phu Valley trek takes you to the magnificent panoramic view of Annapurna massifs, high snow peaks along with ancient villages and high altitude grazing settlements. The trek allows you to explore medieval Tibetan culture in undisturbed form, breathtaking mountains view and great alpine scenerie.

Starting Nar Phu Valley Trek from Kathmandu which offers you a scenic mountain drive to Jagat from where we will officially start the trek. Nar Phu Valley trek follows the popular trek routes of Annapurna Circuit Trail. This long drive passes through Kang La Pass and gives us a great view of Annapurna Circuit and sense of content ment. Kang La Pass Valley offers you wonderful high snow peaks then we heads towards the west over the Thorong  La Pass and continue downward to lower Mustang before moving on ward to Jomsom . Finally, we will flight back to Pokhara and drive back to Kathmandu and end the trek.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,428ft)

 After your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative ( Nepal Guide Info Team) will receive you and move onward to the best Hotel in the Kathmandu Valley where you will get chance to rest and relax in the pretty environment. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

 After having a pleasing night in the Kathmandu, you will have a breakfast early in the morning, then we will manage you to visit several historical and spiritual places in the Kathmandu, Which are listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We’ll visit historic Darbar Square, the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath (monkey temple), Buddhist Shrine (Buddhanath) and many more. In the evening, we will have a brief discussion about the trek and you need to be well-prepared before a the trek. You should know all the essential factors and places while going to the trek. Overnight in the Kathmandu.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Jagat Drive (1100m/3608ft):

In this day FRIST day of the trek, early in the morning after having breakfast,we’ll begin around 8 to 9 hours long drive from Kathmandu which allows you to witness Nepali countryside, lush greenflies, rivers, villages, farms and beautiful mountains. Then finally we’ll reach Jagat. Overnight in the Jagat.

Day 04: Jagat to Dharapani (1,960m/6,430ft): 7-8 hours

Next morning,after having breakfast, the trail starts from Jagat which take you to see and enjoy lush forest, river and sharp-edged cliff of the riverbank. Further trek leads you to Chyamje from where it offers you the glorious backdrop of towering Annapurna mountain range. Then you will continue your trek through the suspension bridge until you will reach to Sattale.Before you will reach the Dharapani you will get chances to views amazing waterfall and some cliffs. Overnight in the Dharapani.

Day 05: Dharapani to Koto (2,610m/8,563ft):

 In this day, the destination will be Koto which is situated at the altitude of 2,610m. Around one hour trek leads you to the pine forests and give chances to explore whitewashed monasteries in the Bagarchhap Village. The trek will be towards Danaque to Timing from where you will have a good view of Mt. Manaslu and other breathtaking 29  mountain peaks. Then we’ll continue trek through the pine forest and finally reach Latamarang and further trek leads you to the final destination (Koto) and offers a stunning glimpse of Annapurna II. Overnight in the Koto.

Day 06: Koto to Meta (3,560m/11,680ft): 7-8 hours

Next morning,after having breakfast, we’ll manage to register restricted area permit at the police check post  in Koto Police Check point. Then we’ll start our beautiful trek through the Riverbank of Seti Khola, where you will see one famous Dharmasala. The further trek takes you to the Tibetan Plateau, Meta village through the greenery forest which offers you a picturesque view of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.

Day 07: Meta to Phu Gaon (4,250m/13,944ft): 7-8 hours

In this day, after having breakfast, the trek destination will be Phu Gaon which is situated at the elevation of the 4,250m. Around 4 hours walk or trek take you to the beautiful village called Kyang through suspension bridges over different streams. Kyang is a place where you will see a maximum Tibetan settlement, was captured by the Tibetan and you will get chances to interact with the Tibetan people. The further rocky trail gives you to explore the Phu Khola and we’ll finally reach Phu Village. Overnight in the Phu Gaon.

Day 08: Acclimatization at Phu Gaon

This is the accommodation day in the hidden Valley called Phu Gaon where we’ll take a rest and explore the traditional culture, natural diversity and religious practices of the ethnic group such as; Lama, Gurung, Ghale and so on. Not only that, we’ll also observe the remote ethnic people settlements and livelihood along with Tashi Lakhang Monastery. Tashi Lakhang Monastery is an old Buddhist Monastery constructed by the Karmapa Rinpoche. It is listed out of the 108 world’s great Buddhist Monasteries. Apart from this, the Valley also offers a great view of Himlung Himal and some other snow peaks.

Day 09: Phu Gaon to Nar (4,110m/13,484ft): 6-7 hours

 Next day, early in the morning after having breakfast, we’ll head toward Nar, which is situated at the elevation of 4,110m.During the trial, we’ll explore Mahendra Pul and pass the high suspension bridge, 80m over the Gorge of Lapche River. Further trek allows us to see many Buddhist stupas on the way and we’ll finally reach Nar Village. In this Village, we will find several Buddhist Monasteries and get an opportunity to visit glorious vistas of Pisang Peak and other small peaks.

Day 10: Acclimatization and preparation at Nar

In this second rest day, early in the morning, after having breakfast, we’ll explore the village Nar and have a close look at the local culture and lifestyle of the native people over there. Then in the evening, we’ll prepare for the next day trek.

Day 11: Nar to Kang La Pass (5,322m/17,460ft) to Ngwal (3,660m/12,008ft): 7-8 hours

Next day, early in the morning, we’ll begin the adventurous trek towards Kangla Pass which is located at the altitude of the 5,322m.from where we’ll get an opportunity to view Annapurna Massif. Then we’ll further trek downward to Ngwal.

Day 12: Ngwal to Manang (3,540m/11,614ft): 4-5 hours

 In this day, the journey will start from Ngwal to Manang which is situated at the elevation of 3,540m. This trek takes you to the isolated village of Paugh from there you will overlook the amazing view of Annapurna range. Then you will move gently upward to Mungli and reach Manang. From here also you can see a close view of Annapurna range.

Day 13: Manang to Yak Kharka (4,110m/13,484ft): 3-4 hours

 In this day, we will head towards Yak Kharka which is situated at the summit of 4,110m.  During around 3 to 4 hours trek, the trail leads you to the village Tenki,above the Manang and climb out of the Marshyangadi Valley which is located in the northwest of Jarsang Khola. Then the trail passes the small village called Ghunsa, a cluster of flat mud roof and continues through meadows, where the horses and yaks graze.You will see an ancient old Mani wall in a pleasant meadow in your further trek and finally reach Yak Kharka Village.

Day 14: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,600m/15,092ft): 3-4 hours

Thorong Phedi is a small busy settlement and this village is famous among the trekkers. Besides,this village able to cater all the needs of tired trekkers and climbers so that some trekkers like to stay over here in order to make next day trek easier.

 Day 15: Thorong Phedi to Thorong La (5,416m/17764ft) to Muktinath (3,800m/12,467ft)

 In this day, early in the morning after having breakfast, we will trek towards Thorong La which is situated at the dizzy height of 5416m. It takes around 4 hours to reach Thorong La. Very beginning of the trail you will see ice on the way,however, picturesque mountain outlooks compensate the strenuous trek. Then we’ll reach Muktinath, a pilgrimage site for both Hindu and Buddhist along with Vishnu temple and Monastery near the Muktinath.

Day 16: Muktinath to Jomsom (2,715m/8,910ft):

 In this day, early in the morning after having breakfast, we will explore the Muktinath and head towards Jomsom. We’lldescend down the famous Kali Gandaki Gorge through the arid land and we’ll pass Jharkot and Khingar villages which has typical Tibetan architecture. Then you will finally reach Jomsom and view soaring peaks of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri from the backdrop.

Day 17: Jomsom to Pokhara Flight (827m/2,700ft): 30 min

Flight

After breakfast, we’ll take flight for Pokhara. The scenic flight provides us panoramic views of the two huge mountains; Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. After arriving at Pokhara Valley, we’ll get chances to explore the beauty of the Pokhara. In the evening, you will enjoy boat-ride in the Fewa Lake, Rupa Lake and Begnas Lake along with mesmerizing lakeside area. Apart from this, you will also view admiring mountains; Machhapuchhare, Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri and so on

Overnight in thePokhara.

Day 18: Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,428ft):

Today early in the morning, after having breakfast, we’ll drive around 5 to 6 hours back to the Kathmandu with the beautiful memory of the trek.

Day 19: Final departure from Nepal

This is the final day of your in Nepal. Our representative ( nepal guide info team member ) will take you to the airport.

Equipment List

Nepal Guide Info Teams has always been keen about safety on the journey. We have prepared Trekking Equipment List 2017/18 which the trekkers will need during their trek in Nepal. The following list should help you with your packing. Generally, you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. The weight of your trek bag while trekking should be no more than 14 KG.

Nar Phu Valley Trekking  2022
Narphu-valley-trekking Nar Phu Valley Trekking is a very special trekking area of Nepal and Himalayan . It commences from Besisahar through the Chame village then start Nar Phu village trek or hidden valley trek. Nar Phu Valley Trekking is beautiful and different cultures, natures, religious and typical life style exploration trekking in Nepal and hidden valley trekking. The trek can return the same way back to Besisahar or continually can ahead over the Thorung La pass and end in Jomsom but must trekkers go ahead hiss pass of Thorung la . We can either fly to Pokhara from Jomsom or trek can ahead continue till Nayapul and then return to Pokhara by bus or car depend on the groub. We need a special permit to Nar phu valley trek it is a restricted area and it has been recognized very lately. It is one of the hidden valley and hidden culture as well as high passes challenging trek of Kangla pass (5200m) and Thorung La pass (5416 m), it will give so much enjoyment and adventure as well as typical local lifestyle and their cultures in this trek. Hidden by swirls of mountain mist ahead of us, from Kangla pass at 5200m the magnificent panorama view of Annapurna massif appears remote mountains and forbidding. Our destination is the Nar Phu valley, above the tree line on the upper limits of cultivation in the very north of Manang district Annapurna regions . It takes five hours reaching the pass that links Nar with Manang and three other Bhoti a villages in the Nyershang down the valley.
 
Nar Phu village Trek Now a days, Nar Phu Valley Trek has about 300 inhabitants who depend on livestock, unlike most Bhoti a people, whose trading patterns changed drastically after the Nepali Government closed borders with Tibet, the people of Nar and Phu valley were least affected by this change. The tortuous path leading from the valley into Tibet had never made them dependent on the salt trade, and till today, yak herding is the basis of their livelihood. The Nar Phu valley trekking is along the Annapurna circuit trekking trail even after cross the Kang La Pass 5200m if continue to Annapurna circuit cross the another high pass Thorong La Pass 5416 m or Tilicho lake highest lake 4950m cross Mesokanto la pass.
