4 Days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with local Guide from Pokhara Overview

Ghorepani is a village in Myagdi District in the Dhawalagiri Zone of northern-central Nepal. It lies 17 kilometres from the district capital of Beni at an elevation of approximately 2874 m (9429 ft). The village lies within the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA) and contains a number of “guest houses” that provide lodging and meals to mountain trekkers, many of whom spend the night before a pre-dawn trek to the top of nearby Poon Hill (3210m/10531 ft) to watch the sunrise.
The place used to be a rest stop where ancient traders found water (pani in Nepali) for their horses (ghora in Nepali) thus leading to the nomenclature Ghorepani.

4 Days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek  lies on a major trail linking several other villages as well as the Annapurna Base Camp. From the South-East direction, it can normally be reached by foot from the village of Birethanti in about 10 hours depending on the trekker. However, many trekkers prefer to overnight at one of the lower villages on their way to Ghorepani, covering the distance over two days owing to the steepness of the trail, the increase in altitude and the beauty of the natural surroundings. From the North-West direction, Ghorepani can be reached in about 8 – 10 hours starting from Tatopani. This trail passes through the villages of Shikha, Dana and Chitre

Poon Hill trek 2024 it can be done in 4 days without trekking for 8 hours on my experience to .
The shortest and quickest would be straight up and down from Naya Pul (or Birethanti) to Ghorepani/Poon Hill and return ,for most people this would be comfortable in 4 days.

There are routes that avoid retracing steps though; an example would be Nayapul/Birethanti – Ghorepani/Poon Hill – Ghandruk – Nayapul which can be done in 4 days. It’s also possible, depending on your trekking pace, to to continue from Ghandruk to Landruk then back to the road at Phedi in 4 days – though that could involve some longer days. same trek you need 5 or 6 days as you walk slow and enjoy with .
Starting starting at Nayapul /Birethanti allows you to decide as you go return the same way after PH and make a choice at Ghandruk too

I sincerely recommend Nepal Guide Info for trekking in Nepal  . Sanjib are a kind and professional since the first contact by email until the end of my trip. I’m American and I would be very far away from home. I traveled first to India and arrived in Nepal sick unable to start the trekking on scheduled date. Sanjib offered me all the necessary support, recommending a clinic and managed to postpone the start of the trek so I could recover well. I’m aware of the work behind it since October is high season in Nepal and it is not easy to change totally a trip scheduled for months. The trek I did – Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek – was amazing and wonderful, a remarkable experience see some of Himalayas giants as Annapurna South and pass through Nepal villages to get closer to their culture and customs. The weather was wonderful. My guide, Jivan Tamang , is a very good professional, good-humored all the time and really took care of me. He knew that I was sick some days before and provided special care with my food during the trek. Nepal is a country with a soul. I felt at home and among friends. I take the opportunity to comment that people should not be afraid to travel alone since it is a wonderful way of making new friends from different countries and getting in touch with yourself. Thank you very much Sanjib and Jivan. Namaste !!
